Is a dump run cheaper than hiring someone?
Only two things decide it: what the load weighs and how many trips it takes. Transfer stations across our area charge$119 to $177 a ton with a $10 minimum, and they weigh you in and out.
Take a half-truck load, 8 cubic yards. Mixed household junk runs roughly 150 to 200 pounds a cubic yard, so that is 0.6 to 0.8 tons, or $71 to $141 in tipping fees before you have spent a minute on it. A full-size pickup bed holds about 2.2 cubic yards level with the rails, so the same load is 4 round trips. Our half truck is $369 with the fee, the labor and the trips already in it.
The honest rule: one item you can lift into your own truck is almost always cheaper to take yourself, especially in Oregon where mattresses and electronics are free to drop. A garage, a shed or anything you would need help lifting is almost never cheaper, once the trips and the loading are counted.

What changes the price
- $25 Stairs beyond one flight, per flight

- $50 Construction debris, per quarter truck on top of the truck price
- $15 Tires, rim on or off, per tire

That is the whole list. Nothing else is added on the day, and the number is confirmed on site before anything is loaded.

Cost questions
How much does junk removal cost in Vancouver, WA and Portland, OR?
Between $99 and $739 when you book online, priced by how much of a 16 cubic yard truck the load fills. A 2 cubic yard minimum pickup is $99, a quarter truck is $189, a half truck is $369 and a full truck is $739. Booking by phone costs $20 more at every size. The same prices apply in all 16 cities we serve, in both states.
Is it cheaper to take junk to the dump myself?
Sometimes, and it depends almost entirely on weight and how many trips it takes. Transfer stations here charge $119 to $177 a ton with a $10 minimum, so the tipping fee alone on a half-truck load is roughly $71 to $141. A pickup bed holds about 2.2 cubic yards, so that same load is 4 round trips, plus fuel, plus the loading and unloading. Our half truck is $369 with the tipping fee already inside it. One item you can lift into your own truck is almost always cheaper to take yourself; a garage is almost never.
What is the cheapest way to get rid of furniture?
Donation first if it is clean and unbroken, because it is free and you get a receipt. After that, a single piece is priced by the piece here: a couch is $119 and a mattress is $99, which beats paying a truck minimum for one item. Once you are past about three pieces the $189 quarter truck is usually the cheaper way to do it.
Why do most junk removal companies not publish prices?
Because volume pricing is easy to publish and hard to walk back. A quote given on your driveway can move with the day, the crew and the read on the customer. Our whole ladder is on this page and in the booking flow before anyone asks for a name, and the price you were shown is confirmed on site before we load.
Does the price include the dump fee?
Yes. Labor, loading from anywhere on the property, the transfer station or recycler fee, and sweep-up are all inside the number. Washington prices also include the state 3.6% solid-waste collection tax. The only things added are the published surcharges: $25 stairs beyond one flight per flight, $25 carry over 100 ft from the truck per job, $50 construction debris per quarter truck on top of the truck price, $15 tires, rim on or off per tire, $25 elevator or third floor and above per job.
What is not included in the price?
Concrete, Dirt and sod, Roofing shingles, Tile and brick, Rock and gravel are quoted by weight instead of volume, because stations charge those by the ton. We do not take paint and solvents, chemicals and pesticides, propane tanks, asbestos, ammunition, medical waste; both counties run free household hazardous waste days.
